Thank You from our MP

Following the recent AGM, Sarah Sackman MP, wrote:

Thank you for having me at your meeting.

It was brilliant to meet and have the chance to speak to so many residents. What a show of community engagement, leadership and creativity.

Thank you very much for the book, for the fantastic wrapping paper, for the salsa lesson and above all all the work that you do year round to strengthen our community and support (and sometimes, rightly, challenge) the work of public bodies which serve our area.

GGERA is the epitome of the word community, where people of all ages and backgrounds come together to discuss the issues facing a neighbourhood. These serious discussion points are then woven in with joyful activities (including the brilliant salsa lessons) to make for an incredibly engaging event.

I am so proud to be your MP and look forward to working alongside the GGERA throughout my time in office.

Donoghue’s Departure!

No more huge juggernauts clogging up our area and – more importantly – no more pervasive hazardous truckloads of waste at the Donoghue site! The company is moving on after decades of residents’ complaints and more than eight years of our protests.

We give special thanks to Mike Freer, Peter Zinkin, Shimon Ryde, Dean Cohen, Ralph Haynes, Peter Alsop, Anne Clarke, Alan Schneiderman, Arjun Mittra and Just Space, to mention but a few, who were instrumental in Donoghue’s departure – not forgetting the many other wonderful people involved in the campaign, including committed and persistent residents of both Golders Green Estate & Handley Grove.

These pictures may jog some memories!

Thank You!

It’s not possible to thank everyone involved in making our neighbourhood such a friendly and enjoyable place to live. But we are especially grateful:

  • To our wonderful local pharmacy, W. Price Chemist, in Pennine Parade, which is a linchpin of our community. They’re an invaluable asset to our neighbourhood, offering exceptional service that always exceeds expectations. Mr Patel and his team are truly dedicated to providing top-notch care.
  • To the local Baptist church for the endless hospitality it shows to the residents’ association.

Spring Bulbs

Over the coming months a variety of spring bulbs will be planted in the green spaces on The Vale. This will attract bees and other pollinating insects, will look very pretty and will be low maintenance.

We’d like to thank Thomson and Morgan who are donating bulbs for this project and the Brent Cross South Community Fund for their donation.
