We only ever collect the information we need or which you agree we can collect. This includes:

We collect only the information that you give us directly — for example, when you use our website, join our WhatsApp community, or complete a form at a public meeting — to:
- Sign up for our e-mail newsletter
- Share news or information on WhatsApp
- Become a member or pay your membership subscription
How do we use your personal data?
We process your data under the basis of consent (e.g., for newsletters) and legitimate interests (e.g., to manage your membership). We use this data to:
- Inform you of local news, events and activities
- Contact you to obtain or provide additional information
- Maintain accurate membership records
- Answer enquiries or requests
- Process donations and membership subscriptions
We use third-party providers to help us communicate with you:

- We use WhatsApp (provided by Meta) for our community groups. Note that by joining a WhatsApp group, your phone number and profile name will be visible to other members of that group. For more information, please see WhatsApp’s Privacy Policy.
You can unsubscribe from our mailing list at any time by using the unsubscribe link at the bottom of any of our emails or by emailing us at contact@ggera.org.uk.
We will not sell your data to anyone else. We will not give your data to anyone else unless we are required to do so by law.
Your rights
You can ask for a physical or digital copy of your data or ask us to correct mistakes. You can ask us to delete your data or object to us using it for specific purposes. Please email all requests to contact@ggera.org.uk. If you are unhappy with our response, you can contact the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO).
